Grandpa is feeling better. He is home from the hospital. He has an aneurysm above his heart. They say that even in a young patient that that would be a difficult surgery, so that is not an option at 87. My aunt is staying with him for a week or so. She flew in from California, which was really nice of her. Home Health (Hospice) is coming out to check on him every few days, take his blood pressure and vitals. Of course, he is still smoking. He is having a breathing treatment to help him breath better… and smoking. I guess at 87, quiting smoking is not a high priority. Can’t say that I blame him. Other then that he is in great spirits. He seems to be his same old self.

I have been getting a ton of comment spam lately. I have just put in place a comment checker that should make my life a little easier. If you have post a comment and it does not go up, shoot me an email and I will try to get the comment posted. Or something. Thanks!

I just wanted to let people who read this blog know that my grandfather is ill. My life is on hold for the next few days. Thanks.

This is just a goofy ass post. I am playing with my Wii’s web browser. So, yes, I am writing this with my Wii. Let jokes ensue. The keyboard sucks, so does “typing.” All in all, not a bad experience, though. I would write more but it’s just too… much.
See you next time!! (Let’s not be coy, call it six months

I tend to get a little bit obsessed about things. They tend to hover in the forefront of my mind for a few days/weeks then leave the front. The lucky obsessions get to stand back and take a back seat to my next focus (focus seems be a more… polite word). Others never come back. The last two have been pretty good ones. Getting Things Done has been a thing for about 2-3 months. For 2 weeks or so I obsessed over my lists and now they are in the back seat. They still get attention, but more appropriately now. More focus on the items on the lists, rather then the lists themselves. Enter my current focus.
I do not want to make a big deal out of this… it may fail and burn out like so many things. But, I want to write about something and this seems as good as any.
…
That’s a post I started about 2 weeks ago. The topic was weight loss, but I decided not to post it until I had met a goal. That goal was 195lbs (which makes 11lbs lost total). I have met that goal. I have always monitored my weight to a certain extent, but I have never attempted to to modify my weight. So far it has been a success. The day to day bits are hard. Not eating as much as I am used to is difficult. But I let my self eat pretty much whatever I want, just not as much of it as I used to eat.
I will continue to post my weight loss (or gain) until I see fit (yea, that’s a pun). I will post when I have met goals or have some interesting thing to point out. If questions come in, I will post more information on what I am doing and how, but unless someone asks, I will assume that you don’t want a lecture.
Worthless statistics:
- Average Calories Consumed: 2010
- Calculated Basal Metabolic Rate: 2841
- Average Calories Burned in Exercise: 523
- Calculated Calorie Deficit: -1243
- Volume lost in Liters: 5.5
And, yes, I am still obsessed.

I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate Mary Ables Ray on winning the Queen of Hearts competition on Johnson City. The QoH is a competition to raise money for the American Heart Association. An admirable event. She won by raising $8080 (not sure of the exact amount, but that’s close.) The first runner up was 69$ behind. The Second runner up was 4000$ behind. Congratulations Mary Ables!!

First and foremost: Happy B-Day to Tony Oliver! This post is late of course…
That said, I got to visit with Mr. T this weekend. After being heckled during the Ohio visit, he decided to send out an email noting his presence. I, of course, took of toward JC immediately. It was a fairly short visit but got to do some much enjoyed hanging out.

Well, another weekend has passed. This one a 3 day weekend! Woo hoo! Unfortunately it is over and we are all back at work.
I had a good weekend. We went to visit various families. As always, Lex loves visiting the grandparents. And I am pretty sure that the grandparents love having Lex visit.
I bought two little trees that I am going to prune and continue in my attempt to create the living pieces of art called bonsai. More on that in the months to come… maybe with [gasp] pictures!
I don’t really have much to say. I mostly just want to keep with my commitment and post something. Even one that is this short. I have found in the past that if I save my post to finish later, I never will.

(I am just going to pretend that it has not been 4 months since I posted here…)
We were going to go the beach this weekend. But thanks to hurricanes and all that… we decided to stay at home. Spending 16 hours in a car with a bored/upset/screaming 2 year old is not worth the risk of spending 2 days in a hotel because of the rain. It has been too long since we had any semblance of a real vacation. Hopefully before too long we can remedy this.
Ok, so I won’t completely ignore the fact that I have not posted in a long time. I want to get back into the groove, so I am going to start small. Like the above post. Something is better then nothing. So enjoy the 5 sentences!
